Third Grade: Learning About Chlorophyll

At work, we have two different Detox Programs: 7-Day Green Goddess & 28-Day Detox.  I’ve been revamping the entire company’s stationery line (trust me, much more difficult and time-consuming than it sounds!) and in the process, I’ve been assigned with the awesome task of coming up with a PowerPoint presentation for 28-Day Detox, Week 2 Meetings.  For the most part, my boss has given me the materials that she wants included, but in an effort to showcase my mad-skillz and make sure that I go above and beyond the call of duty, I did some online research in order to insert some interesting facts or tidbits that she had not included in the material provided to me.

Green Juice is packed full of Chlorophyll!

Boy! did I find out some interesting stuff about Chlorophyll! That’s right, the food that plants make for themselves through photosynthesis.  Just like we learned about in 3rd grade Science Class.  But, sifting through the information, I was left wishing that 3rd grade had also scheduled a nutrition class to pass along some of the amazing benefits of Chlorophyll.

  • Chlorophyll counteracts toxins and inhibits the actions of cancer causing elements.
  • Chlorophyll increases iron levels in your blood, which is especially useful for many vegetarians and vegans.
  • Chlorophyll fluids are said to clean cell structures and help build new cell life.
  • Bacteria that cause diseases find it hard to live in the presence of Chlorophyll, so growth and development of toxic bacteria can be inhibited or stopped.
  • It helps purify the liver to get rid of toxic deposits built up from drug usage, chemicals in foods, artificial flavorings and other potentially harmful things from our daily lives that get stored there.
  • Chlorophyll helps with blood sugar problems, regulating blood sugar levels in your body.
  • It accelerates tissue and cell growth or re-growth activity which helps the body heal faster.
  • Chlorophyll helps get your bowels moving, and acts as a detergent and deodorizer for your intestines, bowel and body. Taking one gel capsule of the powdered herb, tends to resolve constipation problems within just a few hours.
  • It helps kill toxic and disease-causing bacteria in your colon, helps rebuild damaged bowel tissue and helps eliminate mucus from the bowel as well.

These are some of the health benefits attributed to Chlorophyll, but it needs to be ingested raw or steamed for no longer than 5 minutes.  By the time a veggie is cooked for 20 minutes, approx two-thirds of its Chlorophyll has been removed.  Cheers with some green juice!

    • Seriously, it works! Maybe mind over matter, but dang it if the LT wasn’t up and moving around the next day. Speediest recovery time from an operation yet…and being that this is his 5th in a year, he should know!
